Jury Verdict Finds for Injured Laborer
Our trial team won a jury verdict for a laborer who earned $8.00 an hour when he suffered a degloving injury to the heel of his left foot. The laborer was struck by a forklift truck operated by a co-worker.
We sued the company that performed preventative maintenance on the forklift claiming that they improperly maintained the vehicle, leading to the brakes failing.
Defendant showed the jury secret surveillance video showing what appeared to be the Plaintiff running. We showed the jury the video in slow motion about 10 times pointing out that the Plaintiff was actually jogging on his toe, because he couldn't use his heel.
Interestingly, the insurance company for the Defendant is now suing the defense attorney for malpractice claiming that the verdict was too large and it was the defense Attorney's fault.
