$750,000 recovered by a local 174 carpenter
$750,000 recovered by a local 174 carpenter who was injured in March 2004 when he was struck by a crane, causing a herniated disc and needing surgery on his shoulder and neck. He has returned to his trade but will suffer future pain.
He was employed by Monarch Construction. The defendant, Chicago Building Components claimed that the carpenter was actually its employee and therefore there could be no third party case and no recovery. The case settled shortly before trial.
