Bailey Walks for Brain Tumor Research
Meet Bailey; A three-year old Golden Retriever who’s primed and ready to accept donations for his efforts in the upcoming “Path to Progress 5K Walk/Run for Brain Tumor Research”.
More than just a lovable face and devoted family pet, Bailey’s participation in the spring fundraiser and awareness event is personal.
The event, sponsored by the American Brain Tumor Association, will be held on Saturday, May 6, 2006 at Diversy Harbor at 10 a.m..
Uniquely trained to assist an individual during a seizure (a medical crisis common to many suffering the effects of a brain tumor) much like a Seeing Eye dog assists the blind, Bailey hopes to wag his way into your hearts with a message of survival, and hope for a cure.
Every day, approximately 55 adults are newly diagnosed with a brain tumor. Measured by today's standard treatments, only 33% will survive 5 years.
But cutting-edge research and new technologies hold a promise for a cure that’s much closer than ever imagined, delivering new means of detecting, treating and preventing brain tumors and other forms of cancer.
The attorneys and staff at Horwitz, Horwitz & Associates, LTD are proud to sponsor Bailey and his owner, Joan O’Connell (an employee at the firm) in this vital and worthy cause, and welcome your contribution.
