Cra-Z-Art Snoopy Sno-Cone Machines, manufactured by LaRose Industries, have been recalled, according to the US Consumer Product Safety Commission (CSPC). Product Recall #14-010 was issued October 31, 2013.

Apparently, the ice shaving and dispensing cylinder inside the sno-cone machine contains a brass rivet, which can fall out into a sno-cone and possibly cause dental damage or accidental ingestion.

The manufacturer has received at least 64 reports of such brass rivet malfunctions, although no injuries have been reported.

Approximately 102,000 Cra-Z-Art Snoopy Sno-Cone Machines are included in the recall.

The Cra-Z-Art Snoopy Sno-Cone Machine includes three manufacturing batch numbers, which are printed on the back of the white plastic doghouse, as well as on the product packaging.

Manufactured in China, the Cra-Z-Art Snoopy Sno-Cone Machines were sold by Amazon, Barnes & Noble, Toys ‘R Us, and other merchants between September 2012 and July 2013, priced around $15.

Customers are advised to stop using the Cra-Z-Art Snoopy Sno-Cone Machines immediately, check product numbers for relevancy to the recall, and contact LaRose Industries for replacement ice shaving and dispensing cylinders. Retailers are not bound to accept returned products, especially if used.

The Consumer Product Safety Commission states that consumers should stop using the recalled sno-cone machines immediately and contact LaRose Industries for a free repair kit, which includes a new ice shaving cylinder. Do not return the recalled sno-cone machines to the store where purchased.
