Teenager Dies in Car-Semi Crash

Pantagraph reports that a 19-year-old man died in a car crash when he collided with a semi-truck just west of Bloomington. Corners say the young man died from multiple injuries sustained in the crash, and officials will make a final determination of his death after they conclude full toxicology tests.
Police say they the man was driving east on Illinois 9, a few hundred feet from the intersection with Illinois 122, when he car inexplicably crossed the center median and into the path of an oncoming truck. The 19-year-old was the sole occupant of the car. He was wearing a seatbelt, but unfortunately, he still died on the scene from his injuries.
The driver of the truck did not sustain any injuries. Emergency workers responded quickly, but they were unable to assist the deceased due to the severe nature of the crash.

Crash Kills Two Teens, Causes Serious Injuries

The Northwest Herald reports that two teenagers died in a Montgomery County crash. Local police say two vehicles were involved in the collision, causing two deaths and serious injuries.
One of teens was driving the car when it veered off the roadway on Illinois 48. She then over-corrected and drove back into oncoming traffic. She crashed into a minivan approaching from the opposite direction.
The minivan hit the passenger side of the vehicle, and the impact killed the passenger instantly. Emergency workers flew the driver to a local hospital, but she died shortly after arriving.
The minivan driver sustained minor injuries that were not life threatening. A full investigation into the accident is currently underway.
