What Juries Do Not Know – The Truth About Insurance and Trial Lawyers

        150 150 Clifford Horwitz

        What Juries Do Not Know

99% of trials in personal injury cases are about insurance.  What juries do not know, is that the true battle is between the injured individual and the insurance carrier who represents an individual or corporation who is being sued.  The jury is led to believe that the Defendant is an individual or a corporation, but the case is really about his insurance policy and the insurance company… and the droves of attorneys for the insurance company who will fight not to compensate fairly and pay what’s due.

An American-Made Cigarette Lighter Caught Fire in My Hand

        150 150 Clifford Horwitz

        Question:

On the 31.05.01 I had a serious accident involving a cigarette lighter from an American manufacturer. After following careful refuelling instructions, the whole lighter burst into flames, severely catching my left hand on fire in the process.

The injuries I received to my left hand were that severe that it required emergency medical attention for severe burns plus further treatments including physiotherapy.

Still today, after a year of my accident I still have problems with two fingers on my left hand that were worst effected by this. I still have a small reacurring amount of pain, discomfort and stiffness from the joints of these two fingers. I also suffer from reacurring nightmares of my accident

I have sought legal advice about my accident and have been told that I have a strong claim for compensation from this manufacturer, backed up with photographic evidence of my injuries sustained.

The reason why I have contacted yourselves is to ask, if you think I have a strong enough claim for compensation? Also, being that I am from England, would yourselves consider handling my claim for compensation with me being an overseas client?

I strongly believe that by using an American law firm to handle my claim, it would be handled with far greater efficiency than that of an English law firm. I would be extremely grateful to yourselves if you would consider handling my claim for compensation.

Is My Cell Phone the Cause of My Problems?

        150 150 Clifford Horwitz

        Question:

I have had a cell phone since 1998. It’s my only phone so I’ve used it a lot.

I started off with a large clunky one that would get hot after using it for more than a few minutes. For the first few years I never really thought about it hurting me, but in 2001 I started noticing severe pain in my right ear, the ear that I have used for talking on the phone a majority of my life.

I switched to my left ear because I could not take the pain any longer in my right. But after a few months of using my cell on my left ear I began to sustain pain there too. I quickly went out and got a head set for the phone. It has helped but I still have pain in my right ear.

I told my doctor this and he told me to stop using my cell phone. He would not admit or tell me that the cell phone was the problem but just said to stop using it. This concerned me.

He told me that it didn’t look like I had any symptoms of cancer. Then I said well you can’t know until there are x-rays or CATscans. Then he said he wouldn’t recommend a CATscan because there would be too much radiation.

Can I Hold a Restaurant Responsible?

        150 150 Clifford Horwitz

        Question:

About 2 weeks ago I visited a restaurant in my town. I purchased 2 kids meals for my children, After eating a few of the nuggets my children notice that they tasted funny, that’s when they showed it to the baby-sitter and she called me, the nuggets were RAW.

I took the nuggets back up to the store where I purchased them and showed them to the manager, she did not seem at all surprised by the site of these gross nuggets.

Later that evening my children started getting sick and stayed sick for 4 days. On Sunday I called their doctor and the nurse on call told me that I did not need to bring them in right away because they had no fever or pains that did not go away after they use the restroom or vomited, nevertheless I had to physically check all of their fluids by hand to make sure there was no trace of blood.

Monday I called the local owner of the restaurant and spoke to the administrative assistant. She did not seem to concerned until I called corporate office and blessed them out about it.

Wednesday the claims office called me and offered me  $50.00 a child as a settlement for their trouble saying that I could buy something nice for my children or my husband and I could finish our evening out that was interrupted Saturday night and that it was more than usually offered for under cooked food, but since it was children they would go ahead and offer the $50.00.

I informed her I would have to speak to my husband about it (I really just could not let her have it because I was at work).

Thursday I received coupons in the mail for 2 small fries and 2 small hamburgers. I really do not think this is enough for the trouble my 2 children, my husband and I had to go through because of their mistakes. If you could please help me or find an attorney in Augusta that will help me I would be most grateful, not one of the attorneys I have called in this town will call me back.
