Five Injured and One Dead in Car Crash

ABC reported on a recent accident in Chicago that left five people injured and one person dead. Police have confirmed that an SUV with six people in it crashed into a light pole early one Saturday morning. Rescue crews responded to the scene around 4:30 that morning.
According to police, two men left the scene and walked to the local hospital for treatment. They were 18 and 25 years old.
Authorities had to extricate the four women from the car. The do not know the age of one of the women; the other three were 18, 19 and 24 years old.
The 24-year-old woman died at the hospital, and police are still investigating the cause of the crash. If they determine it was due to the driver’s negligence, her family may hire an accident attorney to help.

Freight Train Hits Car, Leaving Two Dead

According to Fox, two people died early one morning when a freight train hit their vehicle. Authorities determined they were trying to beat an eastbound intermodal train at the crossing when it struck their car. Both the driver, a 29-year-old female, and her passenger, a 32-year-old male, died instantly.
An eyewitness who was in the car behind them claims she saw the crossing gates lower, but the car ahead of her didn’t even stop. The driver simply maneuvered around the gates, and, seconds later, the train struck the vehicle. The eyewitness said she saw pieces of the car fly into the air.
The coroner claims both people in the vehicle died immediately from blunt force trauma. None of the train crew members sustained injuries. Both rail and street traffic were backed up for hours following the accident.
