Why Can’t I Get an Attorney to Take My Federal Case?

Question:

Why do we have federal lawyers that are to handle V.A. Cases? I was hurt on the job and doctors are wanting to do surgery and they fired me in May 2006. What right do they have? I was still under doctors’ care.

Answer:

The answer to your question derives from this question:  Why does the republican party always talk about reducing attorney’s fees.  They know that if they can use public prejudice against lawyers to reduce Plaintiff’s attorneys’ fee that they can end all lawsuits in the United States.  That is the republican goal very simply.
Unfortunately, they have achieved that goal in Federal Lawsuits to which I believe you speak.  If you are a federal employee and get injured on the job, an attorney can represent you but the government prohibits them from charging a fee.  They have to do the work for free.  In a capitalist society that is not going to happen.  While the government can defend themselves with lawyers, you can not. Our government would rather borrow money so they can finance attacking other countries and feed the military / industrial complex then to take care of its own citizens.  I am sorry.
