CHICAGO. October 16, 2013 – The Cook County Jury Verdict awarded Clifford Horwitz, Jay Luchsinger and Michael Carter the prestigious Trial Lawyer Excellence award at the 2013 Jury Verdict Reporter Awards Ceremony.

Clifford, Jay and Michael were honored for their outstanding work involving a $64 million jury verdict on behalf of an ironworker who was left paralyzed after a fall. This was the highest recorded verdict for compensatory damages for an individual in Illinois history.
Horwitz has a unique litigation team. The case was tried by Clifford Horwitz, who has 30 years of trial experience, Jay Luchsinger, a third generation local 1 ironworker and 25 year trial lawyer and Michael Carter, a former pipefitter. Jay Luchsinger had worked 14 years as an ironworker and went to law school at night during his last four years of ironwork. Michael Carter is a former local 157 pipefitter and 15-year trial lawyer.
