CHICAGO, ILLINOIS (April 9, 2026) – E Mishan has issued a recall for the Granitestone Diamond Pro Blue Stainless Sauté Pans because they can pose a serious injury hazard to consumers.

The recall was issued on April 2, 2026. Roughly 740,000 units were sold prior to the recall. According to the Consumer Product Safety Commission, the metal cap on the screws that connects the sauté pans could potentially become unhooked and forcefully eject when the pans are heated.

The company has received at least 98 reports where the metal cap detached and ejected from the pan. This includes at least one report where a person received bruising and burns.

The Granitestone Diamond Pro Blue Stainless Sauté Pans were originally manufactured in China.

Liability for Injuries Caused by Consumer Products

Companies that manufactured consumer products have a legal obligation to ensure that those products are reasonably safe. This is especially important for any type of product related to cooking. Cooking products come with a number of inherent risks, including burn injuries. Part of making safe products requires that companies routinely test products in all the ways that they will likely be used. There are several elements that need to be demonstrated in any prima facie case of product liability.

  • The defendant sold the product that was used by the plaintiff.
  • The defendant was the commercial seller of the product.
  • The plaintiff suffered an injury through their use of the product.
  • The product was defective at the time it was sold to the plaintiff.
  • The defect with the product was the actual and proximate cause of the plaintiff’s injury.

There are many different ways that a pan or other consumer product could be unsafe. Among other things, a product may have designed defects, which are inherent to the way that it exists. One of the major issues with the Granitestone Diamond Pro Blue Stainless Sauté Pans is that they malfunction when heated. But heating a pan is an essential part of the way that it functions. This strongly points to the possibility that a design issue is the problem. But in some circumstances, defects in the manufacturing process could cause the underlying issue.

Steps to Take After Injuries Caused by Consumer Products

Many people are injured in accidents involving consumer products each year. According to the National Safety Council, “In 2024, 15.1 million people were treated in emergency departments for injuries resulting from consumer products. Most of the injuries involve everyday products often assumed to be safe. Many of these injuries occur to our most vulnerable populations, older adults and young children.” Any person injured by a consumer product should take certain measures to protect their health and legal rights.

  • A victim should seek medical treatment as early as possible.
  • The product involved in the accident should be stored in a secure location where it will not cause additional harm.
  • Victims should consult with an experienced product liability attorney.

Being injured by a consumer product can be extremely disruptive to a person’s life. They are often left with high medical bills and may need to take periods of time away from work. To make matters worse, manufacturers will almost never accept responsibility if one of their products caused harm. Any person injured by a defective consumer product may be able to see some measure of accountability through a personal injury claim.
