Flaunt  Issues Recall for MagSafe Battery Chargers Over Risk of Serious Injury Due to Fire Hazard

CHICAGO, ILLINOIS (July 25, 2026) – Flaunt MagSafe Battery Chargers have been recalled because they can pose a serious risk of injury or death from a fire hazard.

The recall was issued on June 9, 2026. An estimated 1,400 units were sold prior to the recall. According to the recall notice from the Consumer Product Safety Commission, the lithium-ion batteries in the power banks may overheat and ignite.

This creates a very real risk of injury or death from a fire hazard. The firm has received a total of five reports of the power banks overheating.

This includes one incident where a consumer’s hand was burned. The Flaunt MagSafe Battery Chargers were originally manufactured in China.

Liability for Injuries Caused by Defective Consumer Products 

Companies that create power banks and other consumer products have a legal obligation to ensure that those products are reasonably safe. This is particularly important for any product that uses lithium-ion batteries. These batteries are known to be potential fire hazards in certain conditions. Lithium-ion batteries have been the third-leading cause of accidental fires across New York City in each of the past two years, trailing only electrical wiring and smoking.” There are a number of injuries commonly associated with lithium-ion battery fires.

• First-, second-, and third-degree burns

• Blast injuries

Fundamentally, batteries should not overheat and catch fire. Any battery that catches fire likely has numerous defects.
