On May 24, 2016, the Chicago Daily Law Bulletin’s “In the News” section featured Michael D. Carter, Jr. and David J. Starshak, two attorneys from Horwitz, Horwitz & Associates for their presentation – Trial Psychology: The Importance of Understanding Embedded Suggestions.

Michael and David presented before the North American Brain Injury Society (NABIS) at it’s annual meeting on April 8th, 2016, in Tampa, Florida focusing their presentation on the use of embedded suggestions through Ericksonian trance hypnosis.
NABIS was created specifically to address the needs of multidisciplinary professions dedicated to brain injury – providing education programs, scientific updates and a platform for communication and professional exchange.Michael D. Carter, Jr. has been a trial lawyer for 16 years, and is a partner at Horwitz, Horwitz & Associates. Michael is a published author. He coauthored, Medical Legal Considerations in Traumatic Brain Injury, a chapter in the Manual of Traumatic Brain Injury Management (Zollman), DemosMedical, 2011. In addition, he coauthored the paper, The Relationship between Chronic Pain and Morphological Brain Changes: Legal Implications, 2012. Michael also enjoys studying and writing about persuasive communication.David J. Starshak is a trial lawyer and associate at Horwitz, Horwitz  & Associates. David and Michael coauthored the first chapter, Psyched for Trial: Understanding Trial Psychology, for the handbook, “Inside and Outside the Jury Box: Effective Trail Strategies 2014 Edition.”
