DIX, ILLINOIS (August 11, 2026) – A man from Chicago identified as Samuel Talbert was injured in a Dix semi-truck accident along Interstate 57 northbound.

Jefferson County officials are saying that the accident occurred around 1:30 p.m. on Sunday afternoon. Samuel Talbert was driving his car down the roadway when a semi-truck began switching into his lane of traffic.
