Sanven Technology Issues Recall for Vevor Ice Crushers Because They Can Pose a Fire Hazard

CHICAGO, ILLINOIS (December 26, 2025) – Sanven Technology has issued a recall for Vevor Ice Crushers because they can pose a major fire hazard for consumers.
The recall was issued on December 11, 2025. Roughly 11,650 units were sold.
According to the Consumer Product Safety Commission, Vevor Ice Crushers may experience a thermal event during use and potentially at night. This could cause them to catch on fire or set nearby objects on fire.
Sanven Technology has received two reports of thermal events involving the product. This includes one instance where a device caught fire.
The Vevor Ice Crushers were originally manufactured in China.
Liability for Injuries Caused by Consumer Products
Companies must exercise a great deal of care to create products that are safe. They must take into consideration all of the ways that their products could be used, and even less used. When a consumer product has a tendency to catch fire or otherwise pose a fire hazard, this could form the basis of a product liability claim. There are many types of defects with a product that could potentially cause it to ignite.
- Electrical Defects: A consumer product may have faulty soldering that could create resistance and heat.
- Inadequate Grounding: A consumer product may allow electricity to seek unintended paths and thereby create the potential for ignition.
- Battery Defects: A consumer product may have battery defects. This includes poor cell spacing that allows for rapid heat transfer between cells.
Product liability claims are typically pursued as strict liability offenses. In other words, manufacturers can be liable for injuries involving defective products, even if they exercised a great deal of care to make those products safe. In particular, courts will consider whether or not a product was unreasonably dangerous due to its design, manufacturing, or marketing at the time it was sold.
Steps to Take After Being Injured by a Consumer Product
Accidents involving consumer products remained one of the leading causes of preventable injury and death in the United States. According to the National Safety Council, “In 2024, 15.1 million people were treated in emergency departments for injuries resulting from consumer products. Most of the injuries involve everyday products often assumed to be safe.” Any person injured by a consumer product should take certain steps to protect their rights.
- All of the medical records related to injuries should be collected.
- It should be determined if the product involved in the accident was on any recall list.
- The item that caused the injury should be stored in a secure location where it is not likely to cause further harm.
- Victims should seek the guidance of an experienced product liability attorney.
It can be difficult to know where to begin after being injured by a consumer product. Many victims blame themselves for those accidents. But the fact of the matter is that many of these incidents are preventable and involve poor safety decisions on the part of manufacturers. Any person injured by a defective consumer product may have legal recourse through a product liability claim.
