GURNEE, ILLINOIS (June 29, 2022) – At least one person was injured in a Gurnee car accident after a box truck collided with a an SUV on Interstate 94.

Lake County police officials are saying that the accident took place around 7:39 p.m. on Wednesday. A box truck collided with an SUV under unclear circumstances.

The force of the impact caused the box truck to burst into flames. Firefighters and paramedics were called to the scene of the accident in order to help all of the injured.

The driver of the SUV was transported to a hospital in order to receive treatment. A full investigation remains ongoing at this time.
