Tempo USA Issues Recall for Ambiano Electric Pressure Cookers Due to Serious Burn Hazard

Ambiano Electric Pressure Cookers Recalled Over Burn Hazard

CHICAGO, ILLINOIS (October 17, 2025) – Tempo USA has issued a recall for its Ambiano Electric Pressure Cookers because they can pose a serious burn hazard to consumers.

The recall was issued on October 9, 2025. Roughly 46,660 units were sold prior to the recall.

According to the Consumer Product Safety Commission, the lid on the Ambiano Electric Pressure Cookers can be opened before enough steam pressure has been released. Consequently, hot steam can escape and seriously injure users.

Tempo USA has received 11 incident reports where steam was expelled from the device. This resulted in eight people suffering severe burn injuries.

The Ambiano Electric Pressure Cookers were sold at ALDI stores nationwide.

Liability for Accidents Involving Home Appliances

Companies that make home appliances have a legal obligation to ensure that they are reasonably safe. They must consider all of the ways that their devices are likely to be used. If a company creates a product that has a propensity to endanger consumers, this may be construed as a design defect. When a product has a design defect that results in injuries, affected consumers are able to seek some measure of accountability through a product liability claim. Pressure cookers should have certain safety features to prevent injuries.

  • Lid Locking Mechanism: Pressure cookers should have a lid-locking mechanism that prevents the device from being opened while the cooker is pressurized.
  • Pressure Release Vent: Pressure cookers should have an automatic pressure release valve that regulates the internal temperature and pressure to prevent the device from becoming overpressurized.
  • Gasket Seal: Pressure cookers should have a tight seal that allows for venting if excessive pressure starts to build up.
  • Pressure Indicator: Pressure cookers should have a visible pressure indicator that allows the user to clearly see when the device is pressurized.

One of the best ways for companies to make safe products is to simply follow all relevant safety regulations. But sometimes following safety regulations is not enough. They should also keep in mind industry trends that go above and beyond what may be required by the law. Rigorous testing is another way to identify and detect safety issues with consumer products before they are released.

Steps to Take After Injuries Involving Pressure Cookers

Many consumers have been injured by pressure cookers over the years. In particular, many people have been seriously injured by SharkNinja pressure cookers. According to the Consumer Product Safety Commission, “SharkNinja has received 106 reports of burn injuries, including more than 50 reports of second- or third-degree burns to the face or body, with 26 lawsuits filed.” Certain actions should be taken after any injury with a pressure cooker.

  • Medical Attention: It is important for victims to seek medical attention as early as possible. This is an important part of documenting what happened.
  • Evidence Preservation: The product that caused the injury should be stored in a secure location where it is not likely to cause additional harm.
  • Legal Support: Any person injured by a pressure cooker should seek experienced legal counsel. Victims of pressure cooker accidents are able to seek support through a personal injury claim.

It can be difficult to know where to begin after being injured by a pressure cooker. Many people will blame themselves and think that they are being careless. But the fact of the matter is that most injuries involving pressure cookers stem from poor design and safety decisions. One of the best things to do after any accident involving a pressure cooker is to speak with an attorney. They can evaluate all of the unique facts of your case free of cost and let you know what your legal options are.
