Droyd Fury Youth All-Terrain Vehicles (ATVs) From Reyhee Group and Jinling International Recalled Over Violations of Federal Regulations
CHICAGO, ILLINOIS (October 20, 2024) – Reyhee Group and Jinling International have recalled their Droyd Fury Youth All-Terrain Vehicles (ATVs) over safety concerns.
The recall date was listed as October 10, 2024. Around 156 units were sold.
According to the recall notice from the Consumer Product Safety Commission, the recalled ATVS don’t comply with federal ATV regulations. In particular, the handlebars pose a laceration hazard at higher rates of speed.
No injuries have been reported thus far. Consumers could purchase the recalled Droyd Fury ATVs online through Amazon, Walmart, Target, and other sites.
Liability For All-Terrain Vehicle Accidents
Accidents involving all-terrain vehicles remain all too common. According to the Consumer Product Safety Commission, “from 2018 through 2020, there were 2,448 deaths in the United States associated with OHVs, which includes all-terrain vehicles, recreational off-highway vehicles and utility-terrain vehicles. ATVs accounted for more than two-thirds of the deaths. Nearly 300 deaths were among children under the age of 16.” There are a number of reasons that ATVs can be dangerous for children.
- Even youth ATVs can reach high speeds, which increases the likelihood that riders could lose control and be ejected.
- ATVs are inherently top heavy, which makes them more prone to rollovers.
- Children often underestimate the risks associated with riding an ATV.
Companies that manufacture ATVs could face liability if consumers are injured by their products. All companies must ensure that their products are reasonably safe. To that end, they must comply with all federal safety regulations. When a company fails to incorporate mandatory safety features, this could form the basis of a strict liability claim. Victims of ATV accidents tend to suffer very serious injuries.
- Broken bones
- Lacerations
- Head injuries
- Spinal cord injuries
Many of the injuries associated with ATV accidents may not be immediately obvious. This is why it is so important for accident victims to seek medical support as early as possible. It is also important for victims to seek the legal guidance of an experienced personal injury attorney. Any person injured in an ATV accident may be able to seek some measure of accountability through a civil claim.
