EcoFlow Technology Issues Recall for EcoFlow Delta Max 2000 Model EFD310 Power Station Due to Risk of Burn Injury and Fire Hazard
CHICAGO, ILLINOIS (October 17, 2025) – EcoFlow Delta Max 2000 Model EFD310 Power Stations have been recalled because they can burn consumers and create a fire hazard.
The recall was issued on October 9, 2025. Roughly 25,000 units were sold prior to the recall.
According to the Consumer Product Safety Commission, the EcoFlow Delta Max 2000 Model EFD310 Power Stations may overheat at night, thereby posing a risk of injury and fire hazard.
EcoFlow Technology has received six reports of the devices catching fire. Property damage associated with the fires was estimated at $850,000.
The power stations were originally manufactured in China and sold at various retailers, including Costco and Amazon.
Liability for Accidents Caused by Power Stations
Companies that make power stations and other consumer products must take measures to ensure that their devices are reasonably safe. These devices should not cause a serious risk of injury or fire when they are used as intended. All companies must strictly follow safety regulations, particularly if their product uses lithium batteries. There are many potential defects with power stations that can contribute to a fire.
- Battery Cell Defects: The battery cells in the device may be defective for various reasons. In particular, there could be metal contamination or damage to separators inside the individual battery cells.
- Battery Management System Failures: It is also possible that a defect with the battery management system could allow battery cells to exceed safe voltage limits.
- Enclosure Problems: The enclosure on these devices may fail to properly regulate heat. In particular, heat from one component can spread to the battery compartment and lead to thermal runway.
When a power station has defects that cause it to become dangerous, this could be the basis of a product liability claim. Several entities may bear some legal responsibility if any product is dangerous and causes someone to be injured. This could extend to the company that manufactured the product. If only certain units are likely to fail, this may point to clear defects during the manufacturing process.
Why Hiring an Attorney Is Important After Being Injured by a Consumer Product
Injuries involving consumer products remain very common. According to the National Safety Council, “In 2024, 15.1 million people were treated in emergency departments for injuries resulting from consumer products. Most of the injuries involve everyday products often assumed to be safe. Many of these injuries occur to our most vulnerable populations, older adults and young children.” There are many reasons why it is important to hire an attorney after any injury involving a consumer product.
- An attorney can help determine whether a design, manufacturing, or other defect contributed to your particular accident.
- An attorney can help preserve all of the evidence necessary to demonstrate that one or another party was at fault.
- An attorney can navigate all of the complex laws related to product liability claims.
- An attorney can take steps to ensure that you receive the maximum compensation for all of the ways that you’ve been hurt.
- An attorney can hold all liable parties accountable through a legal action.
There is a tremendous peace of mind that can come with having an experienced attorney handle your injury case. They can focus on negotiating with insurance providers while you can focus on healing. There are also no upfront costs associated with hiring an attorney. They are paid entirely by the opposing party’s insurance provider if they are able to successfully resolve your claim.
