Recall Issued for HEZI Brand Power Strips Due to Injury and Electrocution Hazard

Liability for Injuries Caused by Consumer Products
Products that rely on electrical current come with certain risks. Companies that make these products must ensure that their devices are reasonably safe. They must abide by all safety regulations for whatever product they happen to be creating. They must also test their products in all of the ways that their product could be used. There are many ways that a power strip could be dangerous.
- Internal Components: A power strip may be composed of low-quality components that lack overload protection.
- Moisture Exposure: If power strips are not constructed properly, this creates the risk that water could intrude into the device and short circuit.
- Damage: If the power cord on a power strip is not conducted well. This could lead to the cord fraying or cracking over time.
If a consumer product is defective in some way, this could form the basis of a product liability claim. There are many different ways that a consumer product could be defective. It could have design defects. These are inherent to the way the product is created and exist before it is manufactured. For example, a company may have used low-quality components to construct their product.
Steps to Take After Being Electrocuted by a Consumer Product
