Stiger Issues Recall For Besrey Twins Strollers Over Fall Risk and Safety Standard Violations
CHICAGO, ILLINOIS (July 31, 2024) – Stiger has issued a recall for its Besrey Twins Strollers over entrapment, fall, and choking hazards.
The recall was issued on July 25, 2025, and around 3,045 of the strollers were sold. According to the Consumer Product Safety Commission press release, the Besrey Twins Strollers violate multiple federal safety regulations.
In particular, the front seat in the forward-facing configuration can pose an entrapment hazard for children. Moreover, there are problems with restraint systems and rear seat enclosures that can create a fall hazard.
The Besrey Twins Strollers were sold exclusively on Amazon.com.
Liability For Stroller Accidents
Far too many children are injured in accidents involving strollers every year. According to USA Today, “Strollers and baby carriers are meant to keep kids safe and secure, but an average of 17,000 children are injured every year by one, researchers reported Monday.” There are a number of federal regulations that stroller manufacturers must adhere to.
- Strollers have stability standards and must not pose an entrapment or entanglement risk.
- Strollers are required to be tested by a third party.
- Strollers must not have small parts that could pose a choking hazard.
- Strollers must not use paints with lead.
Companies that manufacture strollers have a legal obligation to ensure that they are reasonably safe. They must take into consideration all of the ways that their product could be used and misused. If a stroller violates federal safety standards and this leads to an accident, this could form the basis of a strict liability claim. Companies should take a number of measures to ensure that their strollers are safe.
- Companies should incorporate safety features into all of their products.
- Companies should comply with all CPSC standards.
- Companies should have comprehensive manuals and clear labels.
When parents buy strollers for their children, they expect that those strollers will be safe. But in far too many instances, manufacturers cut corners in terms of safety in order to save money. These safety lapses may not be detected until multiple children have been seriously injured. It is important for parents to understand that they do have rights in these situations. The family of any children injured by a stroller may be able to seek aid through a civil claim.
