Sanven Technology Issues Recall for VEVOR Garment Steamer Over Burn Injury Risk

CHICAGO, ILLINOIS (December 19, 2025) – Sanven Technology has issued a recall for the VEVOR Garment Steamers because they pose a burn hazard risk.
The recall was issued on December 11, 2025. Roughly 2840 units were sold prior to the recall.
According to the Consumer Product Safety Commission, the steamers may leak or spit hot water. If this water were to come in contact with the person’s skin, it could cause serious burn injuries.
There’s also a major problem with the water tank cap on the back of the unit. It can leak or detach during use, thereby creating another burn hazard risk.
The firm has received at least 12 reports of the water tank detaching. This resulted in two known burn injuries.
Liability for Injuries Caused by Garment Steamers
Companies that create consumer products must ensure that those products are reasonably safe. They must be compliant with all state and federal safety guidelines. In order to ensure that their products are safe, companies must test these products in all of the ways that they will likely be used. There are several ways that a product could be considered defective.
- Design Defects: A product may have designed defects that are inherent to the way it is built. This may be the case if a product is likely to injure consumers when it is being used as intended.
- Manufacturing Defects: A product may have manufacturing defects if only certain units are affected.
- Marketing Defects: A product may have marketing defects if a company fails to warn about the latent dangers associated with their product.
Any product that uses hot steam comes with certain inherent dangers. At a bare minimum, companies must warn their consumers about those dangers. They must also take steps to mitigate known hazards. But in far too many cases, this does not take place. Companies may choose to cut corners in terms of safety to increase their profit margins.
Steps to Take After Being Injured by a Consumer Product
Millions of people are injured by consumer products every year. According to the National Safety Council, “Consumer product injuries totaled 15,068,979 in 2024, an 18% increase from 2023 and a 12% increase from pre-pandemic 2019.” Any person injured by a dangerous consumer product should take several measures to protect themselves.
- Victims should seek medical treatment as early as possible.
- Victims should preserve the item that caused their injury in a safe location. It is an important piece of evidence.
- Victims should seek the guidance of a skilled product liability attorney.
It could be hard to know what to do if you’ve been injured by a consumer product. Many people blame themselves for these injuries. But the fact of the matter is that many of these injuries involve dangerous products. Any person injured by a dangerous product may be able to seek some measure of accountability through a personal injury claim.
