Recall Issued for YCXXKJ Baby Bath Seats Due to Injury and Drowning Hazard

CHICAGO, ILLINOIS (December 19, 2025) – YCXXKJ Baby Bath Seats have been recalled because they pose a serious risk of injury and death due to drowning for children.
The recall was issued on December 11, 2025. Roughly 8960 units were sold prior to the recall.
According to the Consumer Product Safety Commission, the YCXXKJ Baby Bath Seats violate mandatory standards set for infant bath seats. In particular, the seats may become unstable and tip over.
This creates a serious risk that a baby could be seriously injured or killed due to drowning. No injuries have been reported at this time.
The YCXXKJ Baby Bath Seats could be purchased on Amazon.
Liability for Injuries Caused by Baby Seats
Companies that make products for infants and babies have a legal obligation to make sure that those products are reasonably safe. They must comply with all federal safety guidelines. If a product is not compliant with federal safety guidelines, this could form the basis of a product liability claim if a child is injured. There are many requirements of infant bath seats.
- Infant seats have to stay upright and not tip over easily in the bathtub.
- The plastic frame of infant bath seats must be strong enough to resist cracking during normal use.
- The openings of the infant bath seat where babies’ legs go must prevent a baby from being able to slip down and get stuck.
- Infant bath seats must be tested by the manufacturer before they are sold.
Given the vulnerability of small children, it is vital that companies that create children’s products abide by all safety guidelines. But in far too many instances, this does not take place. Part of the problem is that many hazardous toys are imported from countries with less strict safety guidelines. The parents of any child harmed by an infant bath seat may be able to seek justice through a product liability claim.
Why It Is Important to Hire an Attorney After Children Are Injured by Consumer Products
Far too many children are seriously injured or killed every year in accidents involving consumer products. According to the Consumer Product Safety Commission, “An estimated 231,700 toy-related injuries for all ages were treated in U.S. hospital emergency departments in 2023, and males accounted for 57 percent of the injuries.” There are many reasons why it is important to hire an attorney if your child has been injured by a consumer product.
- Evidence Preservation: Lawyers are able to preserve pieces of evidence that could be critical to winning a legal claim.
- Liable Parties: An attorney can evaluate all of the unique facts of your case and help identify all potentially liable parties.
- Fair Compensation: An attorney can help ensure that you are fairly compensated for all of the future medical expenses and pain and suffering of your child.
- No Upfront Costs: There are no upfront costs to hire a product liability attorney if your child was injured by a defective consumer product.
It can be heartbreaking to know that your child was injured. Many parents blame themselves for these accidents. But the fact of the matter is that many accidents involving consumer products are preventable and due to negligence on the part of manufacturers. It is vital that the parents of injured children carefully consider their legal options. There are statutes of limitations associated with being able to pursue civil claims. Failing to act before those statutes of limitations can foreclose your ability to pursue a claim down the road.
