Zippee Silicone Activity Toys Violate Mandatory Safety Standards for Toys

Zippee Silicone Activity Toys Recalled Due to Choking Hazard

CHICAGO, ILLINOIS (November 22, 2025) – Zippee Silicone Activity Toys have been recalled because they pose a serious risk of injury or death to young children if they are ingested.

The recall was issued on November 13, 2025. Roughly 117,500 units were sold prior to the recall.

According to the Consumer Product Safety Commission, the Zippee Silicone Activity Toys contain spherical hands that may reach the back of a child’s throat. This could lead a child to choke and potentially die.

The children’s toys also violate mandatory safety standards. Mobi Games said that they received one report of a child placing the toy in their mouth and choking as a result of the incident.

Liability for Accidents Involving Children’s Toys

Companies that manufactured children’s toys have a legal obligation to ensure that they are reasonably safe. They must follow all federal safety guidelines related to toys. Pursuant to 16 C.F.R. part 1501, children’s toys must not have small parts that could potentially block the throat and airway of a small child. A small part can come from a whole toy or a piece of a toy that breaks off during testing. Companies should take several measures to ensure that their toys do not contain choking hazards.

  • Testing: Companies should ensure that no part of their toy can fit within a small parts test cylinder. If any part of a toy can fit inside the cylinder, it cannot be marketed to children under the age of three.
  • Design: Companies should avoid creating toys that have small detachable parts. Toys should not have detachable buttons, beads, charms, and caps.
  • Compressed Materials: companies should avoid using compressed materials that could potentially expand and fill the airways of a small child.

Product liability claims often proceed as a strict liability offense. A defendant will be liable if their product is defective even if they exercise great care to avoid harm. Companies can also be liable under the legal theory that they failed to warn consumers about the dangers of their product. Toys should have their warning labels and let consumers know about the potential hazards that are associated with using them. For children’s toys, this will typically include a choking hazard warning.

Steps to Take After Accidents With Children’s Toys

Far too many children are seriously injured or killed every year in accidents with toys. According to the Children’s Safety Network, “Between 2015 and 2018, U.S. children and adolescents ages 0-19 sustained over 1 million toy-related injuries that were treated in emergency departments.” It is important that certain actions are taken after any accident with children’s toys.

  • Medical Evaluation: Parents should seek a thorough medical evaluation for the children as soon as possible. This can help create an official record of what happened.
  • Investigation: It should be determined if the affected toy was on any recall list.
  • Evidence Preservation: The toy that caused the injury should be stored in a secure location where it is not likely to cause additional harm. It is an important piece of evidence that should be preserved.
  • Legal Review: Parents should seek legal guidance from an experienced personal injury attorney. An attorney can help identify what parties may be liable.

It can be difficult to know where to begin after any accident involving a child’s toy. These types of accidents tend to be highly preventable. They may involve situations where manufacturers failed to follow safety guidelines. Victims should take the time to understand their legal options. They may be able to pursue damages through a bodily injury claim.
