Lizzie Horwitz

Lizzie Horwitz is a fourth-generation trial lawyer focused on complex personal injury litigation. She has a particular passion for representing individuals and families whose lives have been changed by catastrophic injuries, workplace accidents, and the negligence of others.

Representing injured workers is also deeply personal for Lizzie. Her great-grandfather was an ironworker who died on the job, giving her family firsthand experience with the devastating impact a workplace death can have on the people left behind. His son, Lizzie’s paternal grandfather, went on to found Horwitz, Horwitz & Associates, beginning a family tradition of representing injured workers and their families. Today, Lizzie practices at the firm alongside her father, Clifford Horwitz, continuing that legacy into a fourth generation.

This history shapes Lizzie’s approach to every case. She understands that a serious injury affects far more than the person who was hurt. It can alter the lives of an entire family, and she is committed to helping her clients navigate both the legal and personal consequences of life-changing injuries.

Lizzie began her legal career practicing corporate litigation at the Chicago office of Sidley Austin. She also served as a Judicial Extern for the Circuit Court of Cook County while attending Chicago Kent College of Law.

Before law school, Lizzie worked for the Center for Reproductive Rights, focusing on state-level litigation. While attending New York University, she served on the communications teams for U.S. Congresswoman Jan Schakowsky and then New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio.

Lizzie graduated in the top 5% of her class from both New York University and Chicago Kent College of Law. At Chicago Kent, she graduated summa cum laude and was elected to the Order of the Coif. She was also awarded eight CALI Excellence for the Future Awards for earning the highest grade in her class in courses including Torts, Workers’ Compensation Law, Business Organizations, and Trial Advocacy.

Lizzie’s organizational skills, attention to detail, and commitment to her clients have earned her a role on the firm’s lead trial team.

A lifelong competitive athlete, Lizzie played ice hockey throughout high school and field hockey at the collegiate level. In her free time, Lizzie still enjoys competitive sports and spending time with her cherished family and friends.
