Raw Milk Linked to Campylobacter Infection Outbreak That Sickened 11 People Across Illinois

SPRINGFIELD, ILLINOIS (November 8, 2025) – At least 11 people have been sickened after an outbreak of Campylobacter associated with raw milk.
The Illinois Department of Public Health believes that the milk involved came from a common source. Unlike pasteurized milk, raw milk has not been treated to kill viruses and other potentially harmful substances.
The producer of the milk is working with the Illinois Department of Health to notify infected customers. Health officials are recommending that anyone that purchased and consumed the raw milk contact their medical provider.
