ANNQUAN Brand Power Strips Recalled Over Fire and Injury Risk

ANNQUAN Brand Power Strips Recalled Over Fire and Injury Risk

CHICAGO, ILLINOIS (January 18, 2026) – A recall has been issued for the ANNQUAN Brand Power Strips because they can pose a serious risk of injury or death to users.

The recall was issued on December 18, 2025. Roughly 11,200 units were sold prior to the recall.

According to the Consumer Product Safety Commission, the power strips do not contain any type of supplementary overcurrent protection. This creates a risk of fire if the power strips suddenly become overloaded.

The manufacturer has received several reports on the power strips blowing a fuse. No fires or injuries have been reported at this time.

The product could be purchased online at Amazon.

Liability for Injuries Caused by Consumer Products

Companies that create consumer products have a legal obligation to ensure that those products are reasonably safe. They must abide by all federal safety regulations and test their products in all of the ways they will likely be used and even misused. If a product has defects that contribute to a person’s injuries, this could form the basis of a product liability claim. Several elements need to be demonstrated in any prima facie case of product liability.

  • The defendant sold the product the plaintiff used.
  • The defendant was the commercial seller of the product.
  • The plaintiff suffered an injury through their use of the products.
  • The product was defective at the time it was sold to the defendant.
  • The defect with the product was the actual approximate cause of the plaintiff’s injuries.

There are many ways that a product could potentially be defective. Some products are defective because they lack required safety features. For power strips, this could include overcurrent protection. It is also possible that a product could be considered defective because it lacked adequate warnings or safety instructions.

Steps to Take After Injuries Caused by Consumer Products

Consumer products cause a number of fires every year in the United States. According to the Consumer Product Safety Commission, “Cooking equipment accounted for the largest percentage of fires. An estimated annual average of 157,100 cooking equipment-related fires from 2019 through 2021 accounted for 44.6 percent of the average annual estimate of total residential fires for the same period.” Certain steps should be taken after any injury caused by a consumer product.

  • Victims should seek medical attention as early as possible.
  • Victims should preserve all documents related to their treatment.
  • Victims should determine if the product that injured them was on any recall list.
  • Victims should contact a product liability attorney as soon as possible.

Companies that create consumer products will virtually never accept responsibility if one of those products injures a consumer. They are more likely to blame the victim or other third parties. This is why it’s so important that these accidents are investigated by an outside party. Any person injured by a consumer product may be able to seek some measure of accountability through a civil action.
