Josiah Jones Injured After Jumping From Apartment Building to Escape Fire at 150 North 9th Street in Rockford

ROCKFORD, ILLINOIS (June 18, 2026) – A man identified as Josiah Jones was injured in a Rockford apartment fire along 150 N. 9th Street.

Rockford police officials are saying that the incident took place on May 29. Firefighters and paramedics were called to the scene to help put out the blaze.

Josiah Jones became trapped in the building and had to jump from the second floor to save himself. He was then transported to a local hospital in a neck brace.

Photos of the fire showed multiple units, completely engulfed in flames. In total, four pets died in the fire and at least three people sustained injuries.
