Recall Issued for LiKee Pull String Teething Toys Due to Violations of Mandatory Safety Standards for Toys

CHICAGO, ILLINOIS (June 28, 2026) – A recall has been issued for the LiKee Pull String Teething Toys after it was determined they pose a major choking hazard for young children.

The recall was issued on June 11, 2026. An estimated 24,000 units were sold by various retailers, including Amazon.

According to the Consumer Product Safety Commission, the teething toys violate mandatory safety standards. In particular, the silicone strings are smaller and longer than what is allowed by the law.

The length of the silicone strings can cause them to potentially become lodged in the back of a child’s throat. This poses a grave choking hazard.

The manufacturer has received 10 reports of the strings reaching the back of a child’s throat.

Liability for Injuries Caused by Defective Consumer Products

Magnets: A children’s toy may have detachable magnets. Small magnets pose choking hazards by themselves. They also create the real danger that two or more magnets could become stuck together if they were to be swallowed by a child.

If a product manufacturer fails to abide by federal safety standards related to choking hazards, this could form the basis of a product liability claim.
