GigaCloud Technology USA Issues Recall For Its Popular  Merax Murphy Beds Because They Pose Major Injury Risk From Impact Hazard

CHICAGO, ILLINOIS (August 20, 2026) – GigaCloud Technology USA has issued a recall for various models of its Merax Murphy Beds because they pose a major risk of serious injury or death to unsuspecting consumers.

The recall was issued on August 13, 2026. It is estimated that 1,250 units were sold prior to the recall.

Affected products include the Merax Full-Size and Twin-Size Murphy Beds. According to the Consumer Product Safety Commission, the frame of the wall bed can inadvertently fall onto consumers during assembly or disassembly.

This creates a major impact and crush hazard. The manufacturer has received two reports of the Murphy beds falling during assembly. This resulted in at least two consumers being injured.

One of the victims reportedly sustained bruising to his head. Another person sustained scrapes and bruises on his arms. Consumers could purchase the recalled beds at various stores, including Amazon, Home Depot, and Wayfair.
