Recall Issued for Wyze Solar Cam Pan Security Cameras Due to Risk of Serious Injury From Fire Hazard

CHICAGO, ILLINOIS (June 18, 2026)—A recall has been issued for the popular Wyze Solar Cam Pan Security Cameras because the devices can reportedly catch fire.

The recall was issued on June 4, 2026. Roughly 320,000 units were sold prior to the recall. An estimated 2,500 were sold in Canada.

According to the recall notice by the Consumer Product Safety Commission, the assembly instructions on the Wyze Solar Cam Pan Security Cameras are incorrect.

This could potentially lead consumers to puncture the lithium-ion batteries contained in the cameras. In the event that the lithium-ion batteries are punctured, this could cause the batteries to rapidly overheat and catch fire.

The manufacturer has received 13 reports of the security cameras overheating. This has resulted in an estimated 6 explosions and fires.
